Fix my Trip is more than just another travel blog. We are your independent, digital support platform. With our generators and checklists, we help you actively and pragmatically enforce your rights on an equal footing in the event of flight delays, travel defects, or unjustified fees – providing genuine help for self-help.
Anyone who is stuck at the airport after a flight cancellation, loses their luggage, or ends up in a dirty hotel room often has neither the time nor the nerves for endless legal jargon. Airlines and tour operators exploit exactly this: They hide behind complex Terms & Conditions, blanket rejections, and stalling template responses. The idea for Fix my Trip was born out of frustration with these tactics. We didn't want to build purely informational sites; we wanted to create actionable tools.
Whether you are claiming a refund under US DOT regulations, demanding taxes back, or calculating a price reduction due to construction noise: Our generators translate complex legal foundations into ready-to-use, legally sound drafting aids.
Our promise (and our limit): We are not a law firm and do not replace individual legal advice. But we provide you with the free tools you need so you won't be brushed off, allowing you to effectively get the legal paperwork underway.
Behind Fix my Trip is a small, independent project team consisting of experienced software developers and travel-tested frequent flyers. Instead of standing in the spotlight as individuals, we prefer to let our work and our tools speak for themselves.
Since we do not work with large law firms or investors in the background, we rely on radical transparency: The calculations and documents from Fix my Trip are not based on mere opinions, but on the strict translation of applicable law into code. To achieve this, we systematically analyze laws and recent court rulings and build this logic directly into our tools.
To guarantee the reliability of our tools, we follow uncompromising principles:
We don't guess and we don't invent anything. Our generators are based exclusively on official sources such as the US DOT Aviation Consumer Protection Rules, US Contract Law, and established Industry Standard Compensation Guidelines.
Our PDF letters are not generated uncontrollably by AI. Every generator is programmed manually. The legal if-then logic (e.g., arrival delay > 3 hours = full refund) is firmly anchored and tested within the system.
We work strictly in the interests of travelers. We do not withhold a 20% to 30% commission on successful compensation claims, as many large passenger rights portals do. You keep 100% of your money.
Your privacy is sacred to us. Our forms process your sensitive inputs (such as flight numbers or addresses) absolutely securely. We do not store any generated complaint documents on our servers.
We bundle our tools into four clearly arranged areas so that you can find the right help immediately:
Tools to enforce your rights in the event of flight delays, cancellations, lost luggage, and to reclaim taxes for unused flights.
Go to sectionCalculators and generators for travel defects as well as legal assistance against completely excessive cancellation fees from operators.
Go to sectionSmart checkers for entry requirements, visa rules (ETIAS/eTA), roaming costs, and templates for formal appeals at the customs office.
Go to sectionThe results of our checkers and generators serve as a non-binding initial assessment and procedural facilitation. They do not replace individual legal advice from a licensed attorney and do not guarantee the success of your claim against the travel provider. We regularly review and update the legal situation to reflect new rulings.
In order to offer our generators permanently free of charge and without commission deductions, we cover our server and development costs via small, unobtrusive advertisements on the website or through affiliate links to helpful travel tools (e.g., eSIM providers).
This funding never influences our editorial independence or the underlying logic of our legal generators.
Do you have questions, feedback, or would you like to alert us to a new US court ruling or DOT update? We look forward to your message. Just write to us directly at: info@kassen-lotse.de.
