Airlines and tour operators take advantage of exactly that: they hide behind complex terms and conditions, blanket refusals and delaying template responses. Fix my Trip was born out of frustration with this tactic. We did not want to build mere information pages, but rather create practical tools you can actually use.
Whether you want to claim compensation under UK law, reclaim taxes or calculate a price reduction because of building noise: our generators translate complex legal rules into ready-to-use, legally robust wording aids.
Our promise (and our limit): We are not a law firm and we do not replace individual legal advice. But we give you the free tools you need so you are not fobbed off and can get the legal paperwork underway effectively.
Fix my Trip is run by a small, independent project team of experienced software developers and seasoned travellers. Rather than putting individuals in the spotlight, we prefer to let our work and our tools speak for themselves.
Because we do not work with large law firms or investors in the background, we rely on radical transparency: the calculations and documents from Fix my Trip are not based on mere opinions, but on the strict translation of applicable law into code. To do this, we systematically analyse legislation and current judgments and build that logic directly into our tools.
To guarantee the reliability of our tools, we follow uncompromising principles:
We do not guess and we do not make things up. Our generators are based exclusively on official sources such as UK Regulation 261 (UK261), the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the established industry-standard ABTA guidelines for compensation.
Our PDF letters are not generated by AI without oversight. Every generator is programmed manually. The legal if-then logic (e.g. flight distance > 1,500 km = £350) is firmly built into the system and checked.
We work strictly in travellers’ interests. We do not keep a 20% to 30% commission from successful compensation claims, as many large flight-claim portals do. You keep 100% of your money.
Your privacy is paramount to us. Our forms process your sensitive entries (such as flight numbers or addresses) securely. We do not store generated complaint documents on our servers.

To keep our generators permanently free of charge and available without commission deductions, we cover our server and development costs through small, unobtrusive adverts on the website or through affiliate links to helpful travel tools (e.g. eSIM providers).
This funding never influences the editorial independence or the underlying logic of our legal generators.
